If so, you know that one of the best parts of cruising is the cruise food. First, since not all dining rooms will be serving lunch, you will want to find out what dining room is serving lunch. This information can be found in many places, and one of the easiest places to look is the daily schedule of cruise activities (aka Princess Patter aka “Princess event listings”) that will be delivered to your room every evening. On the back side is a list of hours for different services and venues throughout the ship.
You can also go to at least one of the dining rooms for breakfast and lunch. There are some “specialty” items in the dining room as well for which there is a fee, but it’s not necessary to pay for regular dinner food. There are also many other food choices that you can get almost any time throughout the day too. But there are always free dessert options, both in the main dining room and in the buffet.

Apologies for a probably silly question but first-time cruiser naïveté about to come through full force. 🙂 Is the holiday announcement only for the cruises listed - or all Princess cruises around that time? We are on Enchanted Princess Dec. 8 but I don't see it in the announcement. After a Gala Dinner in the main dining rooms, guests sailing over New Year's will ring in 2024 with a festive countdown party in the Piazza, complete with a Champagne toast! A posh "Dom Perignon Lounge" vibe takes over the Wheelhouse Bar for revelers looking to sing, dance and enjoy a chic celebration. In addition, the new "I Love this Martini" menu, crafted in partnership with Diageo and Filthy® Premium Mixers & Garnishes, is now available across the fleet.

You will want to confirm the lunch hours (and other meals) once you are on your cruise ship. In general on a cruise, you will get free food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 👆 You can check the dining room hours in the Princess app once you are on the ship. While all dining rooms will be open for dinner, other dining rooms may also be open at different times of the day. Once you are on the ship, the Princess app is again one of the best ways to know which dining rooms also serve breakfast and lunch in the main dining room.
You have so many options (that don’t cost extra!)
Sit-down meals in the main dining room, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, are always included on a Princess cruise, and the menu varies somewhat daily. Also included is a buffet, either called World Fresh Marketplace or Horizon Court, depending on the ship, as well as fast casual and grab-and-go spots on board that serve pizza, tacos, burgers, pastries and ice cream. You can also go to one of the main dining rooms on a Princess cruise ship for dinner and breakfast.
If you wish to eat at the same time every night, you can do so by reserving your tables in advance. This seven-course, wine-paired dinner is enhanced by immersive technology, including a 360-degree projection screen displaying scenes of the Mediterranean and additional images projected onto the tabletop. You'll find yourself as captivated by the food as the music and storytelling that will virtually transport you to Santorini, the Amalfi Coast, Barcelona and Provence. The dining experience is invite-only, so if you're not some kind of VIP (suite guest, top-tier loyalty program member, casino high roller and the like), don't expect you will be able to dine here.
Our burgers are homemade and buns are baked throughout the day. Enjoy a juicy cheeseburger, perhaps a brat with sauerkraut, or even a grilled chicken sandwich and other cruise food daily specials. And be sure to complement it with a side order of golden fries. Our chefs do more than make your favorites (or new favorites) from scratch. Choose from regional cuisine that connects you to the local culture and comfort food like, say, the best pizza at sea.
If you are interested in more than one appetizer, or want to try 2 main dishes, go for it! In our experience, the waiters were very accommodating and would even offer to add a lobster tail to our steak dinner one night when we were undecided between 2 delicious options. You can get the buffet for lunch any day of the cruise on a Princess cruise ship. Once you are on your cruise ship, you can also go down to the dining room and see the menu for that evening posted out in front.
